Harris and Lewis and Mamiya

Untitled-16

It was the most amazing of trips. I was overwhelmed with nature, landscape, people and hospitality. Both cameras had been working hard and there’s a huge pile of transparencies waiting to get scanned. Soon. And I want to go back already.

Istanbul. Yet one more city to fall in love with. A dream idea of alternative guide books.

Finally I scanned all my transparencies from Istanbul, except one film that’s still in the camera. As you can see I just had to upload so many of them. Some of them I’m happier with than other ones, but overall I think they represent Istanbul in the way I experienced it. It struck me that … Read more

Nosthalgic about Istanbul. Excited about the rest.

Bosforus

Just back from one of most impressive trips I’ve ever had. Istanbul blew my mind away, made me fall in love and cry when I was leaving. After a few days it already felt like ‘my’ city, a week there made me feel at home. The shock of getting back into snowy Glasgow didn’t help, … Read more

Small travels. Big plans.

breakfast

Small trips- they keep me going. There’s some photos from my two visits to London this year, and from a daytrip to Troon. This year seems to be really good for traveling, next week I’m flying to Istanbul to experience all that architecture, culture and food that I’ve read so much about lately. Before that … Read more

This spring feeling. Where is it?

braskes

I certainly can’t feel spring yet. Days are getting longer, but the gloomy skies are grey and heavy here in Scotland. I’ll be happy to pack up and catch a flight to Istanbul in 10 days. Meanwhile, trying to pretend that spring is here I’m posting some photos of various projects or snapshots that make … Read more

Women.

hair

It’s international women’s day and I would like to share some of my work that features some of my favourite women. Dotted around the world, they have all been major inspiration for my photography and my personality. They even physically made it to my projects. I’d like to wish them and other women of the … Read more

Winter film. Four cities.

staghead

This has been a break in blogging, but rather an exciting month. Just got a couple of films back, scanned them in (with my new scanner!) just to realise I’ve got photos of 4 different cities in them. There’s still some Paris with espresso cups in a shady cafe, there’s Edinburgh with winter sun and … Read more

Christmas Fair. Botanic gardens. Some Paris and smoke in Glasgow.

It’s been a couple of busy weeks I have to admit. Return from Paris saw me getting lost in monster quantities of chocolate making. Pop in here to try my favourite Salted Caramels, Chilli and Lime Truffles, Cinnamon and Orange squares or new improved Hazelnut Pralines. That’s just a fraction of what I remember making, … Read more

3 way career. Photographer, screen printer and chocolatier.

Cloud maker

Wow, come back from Paris was intense right away with all this snow and ice and present shopping. Now though, I’m allowing myself an evening of music, tea and sorting out photos. I dropped off the last of my Owl Prints and Owl Pillow Cases at the Welcome Home Shop, all sold out now. I’m … Read more

Country of winds

fog

There’s more photos from my recent walks and trips. I am learning about this country more and more. I have lived in Scotland for 5 years now, but there’s still things to be discovered. I quite often feel like it’s time to move on, and I will, practical things are slowly getting sorted, but whilst … Read more
